Jane Hance's Second Saturday Swing & Country Dance Party 8-10:30 pm at Pattie Wells studio featuring west coast swing, hustle, cha cha, country two-step, nightclub two-step and waltz. Cost is $7. Tuesday Nights at Tio Leo's: Zydeco night hosted by Greg Benusa. 7-8 p.m. dance lessons, 8-11 p.m. deejayed dance or live band. Cost is $5 for deejayed parties, a little more when a band is playing. See www.icajunzydeco.com (click on Dance Schedule) for specifics.
Wednesdays and Fridays at Wagon Wheel, Santee, CA: JD teaches some country dance lessons 6:30-7:30 p.m., and hosts the music for open dancing from 7:30 "'til you give up." Cover charge $5. 8861 N. Innovations Dance Club at Starlight Dance Studio every Friday evening: in January David and Jennifer Stein are teaching salsa a 7:15-8 p.m., followed by open dancing to west coast swing, country, salsa and hustle 8-11 p.m. Website.

Hustle Dance Parties at Clay's Stage: Check out Fred's "underground" hustle dance parties at his photo studio-warehouse in Costa Mesa. There is usually one a month, but you need to check the Website or get on Fred's email list to find out when. Website.

Salsa at Starlight: David and Jennifer Stein are now teaching "on 1" salsa (as opposed to "on 2" mambo) at Starlight Dance Studio on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. They are really a lot of fun. Website.
